Dr. M S Muthu is one of the leading faces of clinical Pediatric Dentistry in India with over 24 years of experience. He is the founder of Pedo Planet Children Dental Centers, the first exclusive children’s dental centre of South India in 2004.He currently Chairs, the Centre for Early Childhood Caries Research (CECCRe), Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. He graduated from Tamilnadu Government Dental College and Hospital in 1995 (Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University) and specialised in Pediatric Dentistry, from the Nair Hospital Dental College in 1999 (Mumbai University). He has finished his doctorate in 2010 (4th Pediatric Dentist in the country to have a doctorate) and conferred the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2016. Dr. Muthu was an Alumni of the University of Washington, Seattle in the 2007 batch of Summer Institute on "Dental Clinical Research Methods". He is the Joint Secretary of the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry and the General Secretary of the Indian Society of Dental Traumatology. He is the Chair of Global Task Force on "Cleft Without Caries". He has authored two books for Elsevier publications including the well-known textbook "Pediatric Dentistry - Principles and Practice" widely followed by the dental schools in the subcontinent. He has proposed the following classifications, Modified Talon Cusp Classification (2005), Classification for Dens Evaginatus (2011), and recently the "OXIS classification" of interproximal contacts of primary molars (2018). He is the first Indian to receive the prestigious American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry’s Paul P Taylor Award for the year 2020. Dr. Muthu has also been bestowed with Dr. Lakshmanan - Gold Medal for High Impact factor Publication from Faculty of Dental Sciences - for the year 2015, 2017 and 2018. He is one of the few researchers in India in the field of dentistry to have multiple research grants to the tune of INR 6.24 crores.

Dr. S. Abirami currently works at Pedo Planet Children’s Dental Centre, Porur. She completed her under-graduation (BDS) at SRM dental college, Ramapuram, Chennai and post-graduation (MDS) in Department of Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Porur, Chennai. She has 6 years of clinical experience. She had enormous training and experience in preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, Full-mouth rehabilitation of Early Childhood Caries (ECC) under Chair side/General Anesthesia (GA) and management of dental traumatic injuries in children. She is well trained in delivering infant oral care measures especially for children with cleft lip and/or palate. She is child-friendly doctor and focuses on treating existing problem. She is well known for providing individualized anticipatory guidance to parents/caregivers to help instill a positive dental attitude among children. Furthermore, her holistic approach is commendable.
Dr.Vidhyalakshmi is a Pediatric Dentist with 8 years of clinical experience. She completed her undergraduation from Ragas Dental College, Chennai and post graduation from Rajah Muthiah Dental College & Hospital, Chidambaram. After her post graduation she pursued her Fellowship in Advanced Pediatric Dentistry under the guidance of Dr. M S Muthu M.D.S., PhD, MFDS RCPS and has been associated with Pedo planet as the chief Consultant Pediatric Dentist. She is well trained in conscious sedation and is vivid learner and passionate to widen her clinical skills. She is specialized in Pediatric Endodontics and Early Childhood Caries management.
Dr. Cynthia Jeyakumar is known for her immense patience and child-friendly nature. She has 7 years of experience in treating children. Having completed her MDS from one of the top 10 (NIRF ranking) colleges of the country - A. B. Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, she is well rounded in all aspects of Pediatric and Preventive dentistry. Her expertise in pediatric root canal treatments and myofunctional therapy makes it possible for her to provide pain-free treatment to children as young as 4 years of age. She has been treating kids right from her internship (BDS), which she completed from Sinhgad Dental college and hospital, Pune. She has a niche for treating habits like thumb sucking, mouth breathing, tongue thrusting etc. Her motto of providing PAINLESS treatment has helped hundreds of children get their smile back and eat better. An added feather to her cap is her stint with N-SPECC (Nitte Special Child Care Centre), where she had the chance to treat over 50 children with special needs, both on chairside and under general anaesthesia. She speaks 5 languages- English, Tamil, Hindi, Marathi & Malayalam.

With 10 years of clinical experience, she is one of our senior consultants. She has been highly instrumental in facilitating highest quality patient care in Pedo Planet Children Dental Centers. She is well trained in Nitrous Oxide Sedation (Laughing gas), Early Childhood Caries, Early Orthodontics, Aesthetic Dentistry, Preventive Dentistry, Children with cleft, Children with Special Health Care Needs and other routine dental procedures. She had a brief stint as Assistant Professor in Government Dental College, Guwahati for a period of 20 months. She has also been one of the key resource person with a global team of researchers in developing clinical practice guidelines for children with Cleft Lip and Palate. This project was funded by Smile Train and FDI (Federation Dentaire International). She is one of the four recipient (first Indian Team ever) of the recently awarded Paul P. Taylor award by American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry 2020 for summarising research on risk factors of Early Childhood Caries. She is the first Pediatric Dentist in the country to receive a BIRAC grant to develop indigenously made infant wipes and infant table. She has successfully developed a dental trauma app called ‘Injured Tooth’. She has also been instrumental in setting up the first dedicated "Center for Early Childhood Caries Research (CECCRe) at Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research” along with Dr M S Muthu.
Dr. Bhavana I is the Senior Consultant and Branch Head of Pedo Planet Children's Dental Clinic in Anna Nagar. She received her BDS from Ramachandra Dental College in Porur, Chennai, and her MDS from KM Shah Dental College & Hospital in Vadodara, Gujarat. She is a child-friendly doctor who emphasizes on resolving current Dental problems. She is well-known for offering tailored anticipatory assistance to parents/caregivers in order to create a good dental attitude in children. She has won several academic awards for her impactful presentations with patents & grants in field of research. She's multilingualistic and a strong believer in minimally invasive dentistry to ensure the child's comfort. Area of interest- Nitrous Oxide, Oral/Intranasal Midazolam and SDF. Dr. Uma Nagarajan is the Chief Pediatric Dentist in PedoPlanet Children’s Dental Center at Kalkaji, New Delhi. She obtained her BDS Degree from Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai in 2013 and completed her Post- Graduation in Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry from SGT University, Gurugram in 2017. She is an experienced in Pediatric Dentist. She is well trained in managing children of all age groups and keeps them engaged. Her story telling and imagination approach has been very popular among the kids. She is also specialized in Nitrous oxide-oxygen inhalation sedation, commonly known as “Laughing Gas”, which is especially beneficial for pre-cooperative, anxious and fearful children. Dr Uma has a keen interest in prevention of Early Childhood Caries (Tooth Decay in Toddlers). Her preventive approaches includes Pit and Fissure Sealants, Fluoride Therapy and Regular dental follow up visits. She ensures that the parents are made aware about how to take care of their children’s teeth during their visits. Dr. Uma is a strong believer of minimally invasive dentistry and offers treatment using Silver Diamine Fluoride and SMART restorations to make the child as comfortable as possible. She also carries out robust research work and is currently associated with a team of researchers from the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai.
